WHY?

 

                                    A mother was grief stricken after the horrible painful death of her young daughter who was killed in an accident. The mother went to her Pastor and asked the question, why? He knew she wanted to know why God allowed this to happen. Why had her daughter died this horrifying death? The Pastor not knowing what to say looked to the ground and asked God in his heart to give him something to say to comfort this grieving mother. The thought came to him to ask her a question. He looked back into her tear filled eyes and asked if God could take you back to the time before you had your little girl and her brothers and sisters, and he told you could have children but one of them would die in an accident but you could stop that by not having children, would you still have them? The mother without hesitation said, why yes I would have them; they are such a blessing to me. I love them dearly. The Pastor in reply said, this is what God was faced with in creation of man and woman. God foreknew that there would be heartache and pain and even death but for the love he had for us he chose life for us and promised that He would make all things right and just. Be comforted, God will balance the scales of injustice in His time. The mother then cried, it’s not fair!! Responding to her anguish the Pastor said, it’s not fair that we should go to hell for the sin nature that is such a part of man when we can’t change ourselves. This is why God came to earth to ransom and deliver us from the power of sin and death, through Jesus and his horrible death on the cross, taking the penalty for us. You will see your daughter again and God will bring justice to the world. Understand this and you begin to understand the Gospel and the love of God.
